School Parent Council
Like all Boston Public Schools, the Joseph P. Manning Elementary School has a School Parent Council (SPC), which is intended to bring all parents and guardians in the Manning community together to support the school. Every parent or guardian of a Manning student is automatically a member of the School Parent Council and is encouraged to attend and actively participate in SPC meetings. The SPC works closely with the School Site Council to review the school’s budget, recommend programs, sponsor events, solve problems, and raise funds for special school activities.
Who We Are
The Manning SPC is a highly active, creative, and committed group of new and experienced Manning parents and guardians who meet monthly to identify priorities, plan major social and fundraising events, and receive briefings from the principal, Ethan D’Ablemont-Burnes. Fundraising has supported such crucial initiatives as the school’s arts program and teacher, SMART board technology for Manning classroom use, and field trip buses for student activities, among many other things.
