Fifth Grade: Who we are and what we do!
I grew up in Vermont and one of my favorite parts of teaching 5th grade at the Manning is taking the 5th grade class to live and work on a farm each spring. This trip is a culminating experience for many students who have grown leaps and bounds throughout their time at the Manning. I began teaching 5th grade in 2007, and I love teaching at the Manning because of the small supportive community, focus on inclusion, and commitment to helping every child thrive. I'm a graduate of Williams College, Boston Teacher Residency, and Harvard Graduate School of Education, and I was incredibly fortunate to be honored as the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year in 2016. I believe that education is one of the most powerful forms of social justice, and that positive relationships can be transformative. I'm a new mom who enjoys hiking, cooking, and learning new crafts.
